Fast, Cheap & Confident

Meet the Star Family

Grandma first — always. These three are illustrated characters, drawn for this kitchen, and they are the face of everything we make.

Grandma Myrtle — illustrated portrait, silver-gray hair, glasses, floral apron with a second pair of glasses, wooden spoon
Grandma MyrtleSilver-gray hair, round glasses (and a spare pair on her apron), burnt-orange blouse, cream floral apron that reads “Fast, Cheap & Confident,” wooden spoon in hand. She teaches every recipe, tells the Joke of the Day, and her laugh closes the show.
The dog — illustrated scruffy tan mutt, one ear up, burnt-orange paw-print bandana
The DogA scruffy tan mutt with one ear up and a burnt-orange paw-print bandana. His bark opens the anime episodes; his own Dog Treats calendar is on the shelf.
The cat — illustrated plump orange tabby, green eyes, paw-print collar tag, one paw raised
The CatA plump orange tabby with green eyes and a paw-print collar tag. His purr and meow are the last sound of every episode — the signature sign-off.

Where you'll see them

  • Daily recipe clips — Grandma's voice and face open every clip; the dog and cat react.
  • The anime series — movie-style episodes in a Talavera kitchen under papel picado, with real motion, her voice, and pet sounds in every episode.
  • While It Simmers — dance-break shorts, and The Dancing Cookbook ($7) pairs 12 recipes with dance-break pages.
  • Grandma's Joke of the Day — a daily joke in her voice, her laugh as the closer.
